As we get closer to Christmas many of us will get lost in the hustle and bustle of the holiday. It is easy to do as we get caught up in buying gifts for our children, for our family and friends. We get so busy we forget what Christmas is all about. Theologians do not know what date Jesus was born, and it probably was not on December 25th, but that does not matter the exact date He was born, the important part is that He was born and came to save us from our sins!
So take time the next few weeks and just find a quiet place and read the book of Luke in the Bible. Read about Jesus’ birth and the reason He came to earth as a man to live among us! He was fully man and fully God. C.S Lewis once said “God became a man so that you might become God’s child”. He lived a sinless life and had the plan of salvation for all of us who accept Him as our Lord and Savior. He came to die on the cross as a sacrificial lamb for you and me! He became our mediator between us and God!
So this year after you open up all the presents, and enjoy the time with your family some may feel empty inside. This is because you may be missing something in your heart, and it is not because of something you did not get for Christmas, it is because you missed the whole meaning of Christmas. But the good news is that emptiness can go away because there is one present that never fades away, it always is there for you and never leaves you, and that is the gift of Jesus Christ!
Will you open that gift today, it is free and easy to open! Open your heart and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and you will never ever feel empty again. He loves you with an agape love, a love the world can never provide. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will be by your side in the good times and the bad times. You will never be alone again. Now that is a present everyone should open! And I pray all that read this will open that present this year, and I will tell you right now, your life will never be the same again.
God bless and Merry CHRISTmas!!!
